“Why do we need a PhD degree? Do we really want to spend 3-5 years of our most beautiful time in graduate school instead of getting jobs, earning money and enjoying life? Are we good enough to complete the PhD program? What do we do after that?”

Congratulations to both of you and your families!

Now that you not only finish your degrees and enter your professional worlds, you also become the true leaders of VEFFA community. We hope that together with other graduates, you will walk VEFFA to the new intellectual and professional boundaries that we have never been to. May your paths to accomplishments and beyond connect the future of VEFFA community!

To: The Vietnam Education Foundation Fellows Association (VEFFA)

On behalf of the Embassy of Vietnam in the United States of America, I highly appreciate VEFFA’s initiative to establish the inter-library between VEFFA and some local universities, especially your efforts in mobilizing and finding sources of book supply for the library. For me and all the staff at the Embassy, VEFFA have done a practical and lofty deed demonstrating your full responsibilities toward colleagues and friends in Vietnam.

To support such an activity as mentioned above, we, the staff at the Embassy, have called for contribution and collected $1,000, which we would like to send to VEFFA to pay for part of the transportation cost.

Once again, the Embassy congratulates VEFFA on your efforts. We hope and encourage that VEFFA will continue similar activities to build up a high quality book repository that will help meet the needs of study and research in Vietnam.

I wish you health, happiness, and success on the professional path you have chosen.

LE CONG PHUNG
