TRANSPORTATION

(VEF’s instructions for fellows and scholars)

Please follow these directions for ground transportation arrangements, based on your arrival airport.

1. John Wayne-Orange County Airport (SNA): The hotel (Hyatt Regency Newport Beach) has complimentary shuttle service, to and from the airport between 6 a.m.-10 p.m. The shuttle, marked with the name of the hotel, leaves the hotel every hour on the hour, picks up at the airport at approximately 15 minutes past the hour outside the baggage claim area at the curb in the “Ground Transportation” area. You do not need to make reservations in advance.

2. Los Angeles Int'l Airport (LAX): Transportation has been arranged by VEF and the National Academies in advance through the Super Shuttle. Reservations are not necessary. You will receive by mail a pre-paid ticket for the SuperShuttle. Do not lose this ticket! Upon arrival at LAX, you will proceed to the SuperShuttle counter located in the baggage claim area. You will present your ticket along with a photo ID to the SuperShuttle Counter Agent. They will accept your ticket and arrange for you to be on the next shuttle to the hotel. This service will be at no cost to you. If you have accompanying dependents, the cost will be approximately $34 each way.
