Important Dates:

 Abstract Submission deadline: Nov 24th.

  Presentation Date: Jan 5th.

 

Best Presentation Awards:

 One or two best presentations of each session will be awarded with a Certification from NAS and a monetary gift from VEFFA.

Submission Format:

  A submitted abstract must be no longer than 1 page on letter-size paper using at least 11-point font.

  The subject of a submission email should contain the field of the research and the session that it is submitted to.

 

Sessions: (following sessions are planned, please include one of these in the subject of your submission email)

  1. Biological Sciences / Biomedical Engineering / Agricultural Sciences (also accept: Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric sciences). Chair: Pham Minh Liem (UT Houston-05)
  2. Civil Engineering (also accept: Environmental Engineering). Chair: Dinh Huu Hai.
  3. Physics (also accept: Material Science; Metallurgical Engineering ). Chair: Nguyen Van Tien Dung (Brown-05).
  4. Mechanical Engineering (also accept: Aerospace Engineering). Chair: Tran Anh Tuan (UIUC-04).
  5. Mathematics (also accept: Industrial Engineering). Chair: Nguyen Van Tien Dung (Brown-05). Note: these session are temporarily combined with the Physics session. They can be separated if necessary. 
  6. Computer Science (also accept: Industrial Engineering). Chair: Bui Duy Bach (UIUC-05).
  7. Chemistry / Chemical Engineering (also accept: Material Science; Environmental Engineering; Metallurgical Engineering; Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric sciences). Chair: Huynh Tien Phong (Rutgers-04).
  8. Public Health. Chair: Ha Vu Toan  (UTAustin-04).
  9. Electrical / Computer Engineering. Chair: Nguyen Thai Ha (UIUC 03).

 

Exceptions:

Following interdisciplinary research fields are exceptional and researches in these fields can be submitted to one of the accordant major sessions

  1. Metallurgical Engineering: submitted to either Physics or Chemistry session.
  2. Aerospace Engineering: submitted to either Mechanical Engineering or Physics session.
  3. Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences: submitted to either Civil Engineering or Chemistry or Biological Sciences session.
  4. Industrial Engineering: submitted to either Computer Science or Mathematics session.
  5. Environmental Engineering: submitted to either Civil Engineering or Chemistry session.
