- Current position: Research Assistant (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Iowa State University (ISU)).

- Research Major: Software Engineering.

- Research interested: similarity and evolution of software artifacts. The topics of interest include programming patterns, code clones, bugs and fixes, global software development, operation-based version control, scalable and incremental vector-based clustering, structure-oriented program modeling, software data mining, etc.

4)      Tuyen Huynh, Ph.D. student (University of Texas at Austin (UTexas))

1) Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy (Washington State, 2007)
Nominated by Lam Huynh: "I had a chance to work with Thuy on a charity issue last year; thus I knew her quite well. Her pure-heart has impressed me. In addition, we all see her leadership in resolving the Omega issue (which I failed to address previously) as well as in organizing/planning the upcoming conference".

Nominated by Dat Nguyen: "She is the one who deals with Omega about $40 fee issue. This year many fellows don't have to pay that fee when they change the date of departure/arrival, and it's a big deal for the whole community."

2) Nguyen Quang Hoang (Umass, 2004), 2008 VEFFA President

Nominated by Lam Huynh: " With his unique leadership, Mr. Hoang has contributed significantly to the success of VEFFA, shaping a stronger and stronger community."

3) Le Hoang Anh (NYU, 2005), 2007 VEFFA BoR member

Nominated by Lam Huynh: "Mr. Anh was the person who actually did the work (when compared to me, a talker). He involved in so many activities in 2007 (e.g., website, Gala, bookdrive, …). Without him, I think the year 2007 would have been a very boring year. He was also the organizer of the successful Gala dinner this year."
 
4) Nguyen Nha Hong Tran (U of Missouri 2006) & Dinh Ba Thang (USC, 2006)

Nominated by Lam Huynh: "Needless to say that these two people were the soul of the successful 2009 Scientific Session. I truly was impressed by their commitment as well as their leadership."

Nominated by Dat Nguyen: "anyone attended last conference knows how wonderful the Scientific Session was. And anyone who attended conferences before last year knows how boring the Scientific Sessions were. So they are the ones who give Scientific Session a whole new life, and this leads to its success in the future (FYI: this year we have a big sponsor for SS, and the prizes will be worthy, trust me  <= advertisement for SS)."

5)      Long Nguyen (VEFFA country director)

Nominated by Pham Nguyet Tu: "I would like to nominate anh Long Nguyen, VEFFA country director for Service Award. Anh Long has contributed so much  time and effort in many VEFFA projects such as Book Drive... Also, he has been actively involved in creating the relation between VEFFA and many organizations/universities in VIetnam and the US."

6)     Lynne McNamara
Nominated by Tha-Ha Nguyen: "I would like to nominate Ms. Lynne McNamara for the VEFFA Service Award. Since Ms. Lynne joint VEF staff about 5 years ago, she has always been working with dedication and professionalism. At her age and being non-Vietnamese, it requires great effort and love to keep up with the amount of work of VEF, in particular with several trip to Vietnam per years. Although many of us, including me :), might not agree with her on every issue, it's hard for any one to deny Ms. Lynne contribution to VEF and VEFFA. A symbolic fact of her constant help to VEFFA, Ms. Lynne is the person who incorporate VEFFA with the U.S. authority some three years ago. With these reasons, I would like to nominate Ms. Lynne for the VEFFA Service Award. And I urge VEFFA members to view things in perspective and to seriously consider her case in your vote."
